Vaginismus verstehen und Schwangere begleiten – ein Leitfaden für Hebammen

Vaginismus ist ein unwillkürlicher, heftiger, reflexartiger Zusammenzug des Beckenbodens, der Penetration schmerzhaft oder unmöglich macht. Oft bleibt er unerkannt – schätzungsweise 5–17% der Frauen im klinischen Setting leiden unter dieser sexuellen Funktionsstörung. Scham, Tabuisierung und Unwissen erschweren eine frühe Diagnose. Dabei belastet Vaginismus Frauen und Paare im Alltag, besonders wenn ein Kinderwunsch besteht. Hebammen können durch ihre Nähe zum Paar und ihre Expertise Symptome frühzeitig erkennen und individuelle Unterstützung anbieten. Das reduziert Stress und Risiken und ermöglicht eine positive Geburtserfahrung.
